Harmony Baptist Church is privileged to love and participate in the support of several missionaries. These families are reaching thousands of men and women with the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Kevin and Cami Zwart serve with African Inland Missions in Mozambique, originally a Portugese colony considered to be one of the least developed countries in the world. Kevin is from Middletown and Cami has missionary parents. In 1994 they went to Nambia working with teens. They have become involved with Theological Education by Extension (TEE) in Mozambique. Rev. Vincent and Maryann Morgan are serving in Brooklyn, New York, reaching Russian Jews for Jesus. They have planted a church called Tserkov Voskresenye Khristova ,(Church of the Resurrection of Christ), which has three cell groups in Canarsie, Coney Island and Staten Island. Vincent is field director for Christian Fellowship in Israel, overseeing 2 pastors. This outreach distributes free used clothing, Bibles and Christian books and has been one of the most aggressively persecuted in Israel. They lead one-two mimistry trips to Israel a year. Rev. Michael and Debbie Bannon have been working in Lithuania since 1997. During the last several years they formed a team called, "The Way The Truth and The Life", which is involved in church planting. They have many evangelical outreaches including video seminars and weekly Bible Studies; helping many to see Christ and share their faith with others. Northern Frontier Camp provides programs that enable mentors to guide groups of boys/young men through adventure-packed, action-filled experiences that grow young people closer to God and also equip them to be leaders of tomorrow. Camp Cedarbrook, (formerly Camp Cherith), in the Adirondacks is a nondenominational Christ-centered camp for girls which primarily complements the girls club program of Pioneer Clubs as well as other ministries of local churches that subscribe to the Pioneer Club's statement of faith. Their mission is to reach and disciple girls for Jesus Christ so that they may become all that God intends them to be and to glorify His name. Marianne Steenburgh has been supported by Harmony for many years. She works through Child Evangelism Fellowship in Orange County, New York. Marianne is attempting to expand the ministry of CEF through children’s activities such as weekly Good News Clubs in homes and schools, special day programs and also Holiday parties, Bible drama and puppets. Using the Mobile Chapel, Marianne is seen every year at the Orange County Fair with many professions of faith recorded.
Rick and Diana Wilson are presently serving as Project Developers for World Venture. They are working the Mayatima Project in Kenya, the Sudan Venture in Sudan, the Ministery Center in Goma, Congo and the Phillips House in Romania. The Wilsons have spent ten years ministering in Venezuela, establishing churches there. Rick and Diana are based in Charlotte, N.C. but travel to Kenya, Sudan and Romania throughout the year. Ron and Wanda Thompson are affiliated with the Tentmakers Bible Mission. Ron is the new Executive Director of the mission. TBM is a faith based mission established in 1985 with a strong focus on church planting in the United States and throughout the world. Currently TBM has thirty missionaries in five countries. After serving for 36 years with Biblical Ministries Worldwide, the Thompsons maintain strong friendships and working relationships with BMW while serving at TBM. Ron continues to serve as Coordinator for the Church Planting Consortium, (the joint vision of BMW and TBM which he helped develop in 2000.) Sam and Becky Trommler are our missionaries on the college campuses in Arizona, specifically Arizona State University and Paradise Valley Community College. They lead weekly on-campus Bible Studies. Their ministry focuses on evangelism, discipleship and leadership training. Tomoo and Kaori Koike are missionaries with Word of Life in Japan. They have two children and live with Kaorri’s mother. Their ministry is in Sandai, Japan, a city with one million people. They run Bible clubs in two churches and help three others. They also run camps and other out-reach programs for non-Christians. John and Susan Edwards are our missionaries serving with SEND International. From 1993 until 2009 John and Susan along with their three children ministered in Japan evangelizing among the youth. In 2009 they took a position in the Mobilization Depart of SEND and returned to the United States to become mobilizers in America’s south east. Currently they live in South Carolina where they continue to be active in ministry through Bible studies and at various locations seeking to mobilize others to share the gospel around the world.
